First Night of Football

The first night of the 2006 football season lived up to its billing. Charlie Batch had a 126.5 rating, threw 3 touchdown passes and led the Steelers to a 28-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Daunte Culpepper looked pretty solid in his debut coming off a nasty knee injury in 2005. Willie Parker rushed for over 115 yards on 29 carries and provided he could handle the load of the Pittsburgh running game. Lets see if he can handle it for a whole season. Heath Miller had a huge 87 yard TD catch and finished with over 100 yards receiving. (How does a tight end have an 87 yard reception?) A good start to the fantasy season for owners of Parker and Miller.

The best part of the whole game had to be when former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis(now a half-time commentator) arrived in Steel City in a bright yellow school bus. Pittsburgh faithful stood and gave him a huge ovation.
